Corp.Gov Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words

Corp.Gov - Essay Example Corporate governance refers to the structure which ensures that the right questions are asked and checks and balances are in place to make sure that the answers to these questions reflect what is in the best interest of the organization for long-term sustainability of value (Minow & Monks, 2008). According to Davis (2006) corporate governance can be viewed as a system for optimizing the contributions of a number of stakeholders to a purpose they are persuaded to share. These stakeholders involve shareholders; the board of directors, customers, employees, suppliers, community and the government. Effective corporate governance has a profound effect on how well a business performs. Organizations which have found effective means of governing their businesses are prosperous and remain prosperous. The board’s inability to establish a sound governance model gives rise to the probability of failure of the enterprise (Colley et. al, 2004). The purpose of corporate governance is to ensure the survival and success of the organization (Davis, 2006). Good corporate governance requires a complex system of strict checks and balances. The three key actors in corporate governance are the management, directors and the shareholders. (Minow & Monks, 2008) Appropriate implementation of the business concept with goals and directions set by the board, resource planning and effective execution of plans carried out by CEO and the alignment of board and management objectives with those of shareholders. The board undertakes a huge fiduciary responsibility when it assumes the obligation to represent interests of owners, who do not represent themselves. In the course of this representation they are required to demonstrate integrity as well as the competence to make sound decisions (Colley et. al, 2004). Consumer Behavior Essay Example for Free

Consumer Behavior Essay Consumer behavior focuses on how individuals make decisions to spend their available resources. Companies have to know how to market their product in all different target group and cultural markets. Marketers need to know and understand everything they can about their customers, existing, and possible prospects, their personal and group influences, and how it will impact their bottom line. After reviewing table 12. 2 on the top 25 U. S.  Hispanic markets, I noticed tht the largest population of Hispanics are in the Texas area. Measuring consumer learning in this table shows that the Hispanic culture percentage is mainly on the west side of the United States stretching from Texas to California, so marketing must display their products in some Spanish advertising. Table 12. 3 Traditional Character tics of the Hispanic American Market showed me that Spanish shoppers are more consequence when it comes to spending, and will stick with their brand loyalty. The trend and impact of the consumers in this table are fashion conscious, and buy brands that ar4e advertised by their ethical group stores (Schiffman G. Kanuk, L. 2009). Table 12. 4, Ways in Which â€Å"Hispanic† Has Been Defined, helped me to see how marketers should target each Hispanic American market separately. In this table, recognizing how consumers learn and assimilate information is important because you have several different country of origins to market a product. Table 12. 5 Demographic Characteristics of U. S. Hispanic Ethnicity Types data is important because of the different groups that marketers have to target. It helps companies determine the identity to wht segment market each Hispanic family falls under. For example, there maybe weak Hispanic segment exhibits, and low ethnic identity, so why should companies market in these areas that have little to do with determining a consumer media behavior.

The Significance of Imparting Delegation to Nursing Students Johannes Gonzalez Aquinas College N232 Trends and Technology in Nursing Changes in the health care system and the nursing shortage have been a major cause of the transformation in primary care for the patients. Hospitals are now using unlicensed assistive personnel who help provide direct as well as indirect care for patients under the supervision of nurses. This change will demand that nurses have a sharper understanding of delegation.Teaching future nursing students how to delegate different responsibilities using their communication and critical thinking skills should be a significant subject in schools. Schools should focus on students’ active learning techniques to enhance this skill. Some of these techniques can be didactic content, case studies, and clinical placement. These learning techniques will consequently assist the nursing students realize the importance of delegation thus preparing them more comprehen sively for their future career. When students use these methods, they increase their competence on the subject of delegation. This article allows students understand the importance of delegation in the health care system today. A positive point of view from this article is how the author gives different examples of why is vital to teach delegation to nursing students. As a nursing student, I was able to experience how essential delegation is at a clinical setting by using the learning activity called clinical placement. Clinical placement allowed me to additionally understand how I can use critical thinking to delegate different tasks to other team members. There was one negative aspect to this article in my opinion. The author failed to provide actual examples of how delegation can be use in care facilities. I believe there are many things that students can learn from this article. The major key is how students can foster delegation skills by combining the active learning techniques from education and the clinical involvement from the healthcare facility. Reference Powell, R. (2011). Improving students' delegation skills. Nurse Educator: Clinical Issues, 36(1), 9-10.

Marks of Maturity Essay

As a participant within my focus group, my teachings should assist each of them in†¦ The capability of identifying the relationship between Jesus and the Law, by Applying their hermeneutic skills to accurately interpret Scriptures through critical thinking. Gaining competence for themselves in giving a defense for why Christ is the Messiah, by Understanding the Great Commission, the Covenants of God, and God’s purpose for sending Christ. Making a decision for Christ if not yet saved, or confirming reasons for their faith, by Taking them to what the Word says about what is asked of a disciple of Christ, and what is needed of a follower to be saved. Be proficient in identifying the fundamentals of the Christian faith, by Demonstrating the capacity to complete the aptitude test administered upon completion of the given material for this lesson. Wielding the talents to employ these lessons to anyone they know like family and friends, by Sharing the information in the handouts given during the lesson with loved ones, confess their faith (NEW BELIEVER’S ) and or understanding why it’s important (EVERYONE), and committing to fulfill the Great Commission once understood, in the community. Upon the successful completion of this course of study, a student could be expected to make a decision for Christ if they had not already done so. Having already done so however, a student could be expected to reaffirm their decision for a life with Christ. Each student will be given the essentials necessary to critically analyze and interpret such faith based principles such as the Covenants with God, the promise of Christ, the Great Commission, and the means to Discipleship. Upon understanding of these elements one could build a practicum within a small group to present to the rest of the class on what five things they would emphasize in witnessing to a family member or friend. I would ask that everyone submit a name to me of someone they knew that was lost spiritually, and that they could honestly see themselves having a conversation based on the practicum they submitted before presenting. Once the lesson is given, and the groups share their presentation the groups would be split up in groups of two. These groups would then use the practicum to go before one person for each two man group equally distributed according to their skill sets and witness to the one lost person of my choice. Explaining each of the lesson fundamentals with this person a summary should be written of what was discussed, and the reactions for this lost person. This summary should be brief to not fill more than five minutes but exhaustive enough to give details. Discussing the outcome would be beneficial for the class so that if a similar situation arrived for them they would have a general idea how to minister the situation. Once the findings are summarized a brief review of the lesson will be administered where the class will be allowed to answer the review questions aloud. As I look around the room, distinguishing the question to just one student will sometimes be needed based on my observations in the  last two sessions with them. From here a modest test based on the expectations and proof model will be given, no more than 15 questions. From there we will trade papers with a different partner and grade the papers discretely. I will walk around the room to ensure no one missed a large amount of questions, and if so follow-up with those individuals. My email will be given at closing to provide assistance on anything relative to discipling later, and regarding the lesson challenge, I will give each individual according to the level I observed them a challenge to email me that will pertain to the lessons I have given and applying them in the world.
